Cranberry Orange Compote

If you’re looking for a last minute dish for Thanksgiving, try this! It’s one of my favorites whenever cranberries come into season!

This is a nice little easy side dish to make for Thanksgiving to replace canned cranberry sauce.  This compote has only a few ingredients, takes a few minutes to make, and tastes great.  I make it whenever cranberries are available at the grocery store as a nice little snack high in vitamin C and antioxidants.

Cranberry-Orange Compote

Ingredients

  • One 12oz bag of cranberries
  • 1 orange or 2 clementines
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • A food processor

Steps

Wash the cranberries, peel and segment the oranges, and place all the ingredients into a food processor.  Blend the ingredients until smooth.  Add more lemon juice or sugar for taste.  I personally like things a bit more tart, but if you have a sweet-tooth, a bit more sugar might help.  Serve cool.  And that’s it, you’re done!  It’s quick, it’s easy, and it’s delicious!  Give it a try this…
